Applied Scientist – Machine and Deep Learning

Brilliantly successful CEO and CTO have just launched another kickin' start up here in DC. They sold the first one for $300M, so if you've always wanted to break in at the ground floor (or have done it before and loved it), now may be  your moment!

Seeking a phenom to forge trails classifying and predicting the sensed world. You'll inovate across multi-tiered data models, dynamically generated and optimized feature sets, pragmatic model construction and more. Invent and deploy ground breaking, reliable and resilient algorithms and associated software at the center of an entirely new Smart Home solution that is not what you conjure when you think "Smart Home" currently; this truly does not yet exist.

Your Role:

• Design, optimize and create tools to build, balance, clean and normalize relevant data sets that drive the rest of the process

• Design and optimize feature sets relevant to both the target classifications/predictions and the input data sets

• Design, test, optimize and then deploy models that have both superior EER performance and are robust

• Design and evolve as needed a distributed, layered model-deployment architecture that optimizes across response time, cost, size and power

• Together with the rest of the team, suggest enhancements to the overall product vision and value proposition.

Your Stuff:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field

• Experienced w/ full MDL process from data sets to features to models to deployment

• Real-time, mixed sampling, mixed resolution data sources a plus

• Strong programming skills with Python or R and C/C++

• Experience with tools such as Tensorflow, Jupyter, Caffe, Torch, PyTorch, etc.

• Experience with Docker desired

• Experience with process tools like git and Jira desired

• Start-up, open-source, and product experience are a plus
